Infoblox Inc., the market leading developer of advanced network infrastructure automation and control solutions and a Cisco Solution Developer since 2008, today announced availability of its newest virtual DNS, DHCP and IPAM software module based on Infoblox NIOS version 5.1r4 (vNIOS) , also referred to as Infoblox Branch Office Box software, which has been certified for the Cisco UCS Express Platform (see related press release also issued today “Cisco Solution Developer Infoblox Completes Cisco Interoperability Verification Testing”).
Infoblox’s newest IPv6-ready Branch Office Box software provides local survivability at branch offices for business critical domain name resolution (DNS), IP address assignment (DHCP) and IP address management (IPAM) functionality. For organizations—such as those in retail, health care and manufacturing—that consider local survivability of DNS, DHCP and IP address management (DDI) at the branch a high priority, combining the Infoblox solution with the Cisco UCS Express platform will reduce operational costs and footprint while enabling centralized management and meeting the demands required for a highly available distributed network. Centralized management while delivering high availability at the branch are key foundational elements needed for cloud services.
The newest Infoblox virtual software offering represents the second generation of Infoblox branch office offerings that have been integrated and certified by Cisco for Cisco environments. Infoblox first delivered and certified virtual DNS, DHCP and IPAM (DDI) software modules for the Cisco Integrated Services Router, leveraging the Cisco AXP architecture on the 2800, 2900, 3800 and 3900 blades. This second generation solution is specifically designed and certified to run on the new Cisco UCS Express Service Ready Engine Virtualization (SRE-V) platform on the SRE 700 and 900 blades, an ESXi hypervisor-based platform.
