Infoblox, the market leading developer of advanced network infrastructure automation and control solutions, today announced that Torus, a global leader in insurance, has installed and implemented 20 Infoblox appliances throughout its network locations in Europe, United States and Bermuda.
Torus is using Infoblox appliances to deliver essential network infrastructure services, including internal domain name resolutions (DNS), IP address assignment (DHCP), and IP address management (IPAM), as well as network change and configuration management (NCCM).
By providing highly reliable, manageable and secure network infrastructure services, the Infoblox platforms have helped Torus to increase security, reduce administrative overhead and produce an immediate return on investment.
“We leverage the Infoblox Grid™ technology for central management, which gives us tremendous service reliability and control over DNS, DHCP and IP address management while saving significant manpower at all our regional sites,” said Jeff Smith, Group Chief Information Officer at Torus Insurance.
Torus deployed two HA pairs in their London headquarters and one physical box in each office, centrally managing them all via the Infoblox Grid™ technology and Infoblox’s intuitive graphical user interface. Additionally, the devices leverage Infoblox DNS Anycast, which maintains that DNS service is highly available. Torus also leverages Infoblox’s built-in IP address management functionality, which allows them to track IP addresses that are given out throughout the entire network. Prior to Infoblox, it was difficult to have any reliable knowledge of the IP addresses.
Torus also deployed an additional Infoblox product, NetMRI, which provides network change and configuration management (NCCM). Infoblox NetMRI enables automation of network change, visibility into the impact of changes on network health, network configuration management and compliance reporting.
“The Infoblox NetMRI automatically checks the configurations globally and can diagnose our network for any issues while giving us ample warning so that we can fix those issues before they lead to bigger problems,” said Marc Bennett, Network and Security Architect at Torus Insurance.
Infoblox appliances now provide nonstop core network services, eliminate reliance on experts, and improve security. Both Bennett and Smith are convinced that Infoblox has given Torus clear control of its infrastructure. The firm can instantly and routinely obtain vital, real-time data about its network.
“The entire process of managing DNS and DHCP for Torus has become a much more efficient, accurate and reliable system,” concluded Smith. “Most importantly, Infoblox has helped immensely with the scalability of the network and the agility of our business.”
