Infoblox Inc. (NYSE:BLOX), the network control company, today announced that Infoblox IPv6 evangelist Tom Coffeen will give the keynote speech at the 7th annual North American IPv6 Technology Summit on Sept. 24 – 25 in Denver, Colorado.
Coffeen will speak on “IPv6 Has Arrived! So Where Are We and What’s Next?” The keynote will look ahead to the potential economic benefits of IPv6 for organizations, based on the evolution of network services relying on IPv6; IPv6 training and deployment; and foundational operational practices that are putting IPv6 to work now.
In past years, the goal of the Summit has been educating and providing outreach to help companies deploy IPv6, the next generation of Internet Protocol addressing. This year, the emphasis will shift to exploring large-scale projects deployed over IPv6, which address the power of the network and simplify network deployments.
“Infoblox brings a wealth of experience and products to the networking community that can serve as the foundation of successful IPv6 deployments,” said Ognian Mitev, Chairman of the Rocky Mountain IPv6 Task Force and host of the Summit. “We’re excited to have Tom Coffeen, one of the world’s leading IPv6 experts, sharing his experience and insights.”
Coffeen has served as the Chief IPv6 Evangelist at Infoblox for three years and is a major contributor to the Infoblox IPv6 Center of Excellence (www.infoblox.com/IPv6), which provides IT professionals with vendor-neutral materials and best practices for understanding, planning, and implementing IPv6. He is also the author of “IPv6 Address Planning,” published in May by O’Reilly Media. Before joining Infoblox, Coffeen worked in network engineering for 14 years, culminating with the position of Vice President of Network Architecture at Limelight Networks.
